Celebrate ʻŌhiʻa Lehua Day 2020 - April 25th

April is not only Earth Month but it's also Hawaii Native Species Month. Even better and more specifically, April 25th has officially been proclaimed ʻŌhiʻa Lehua Day by the State of Hawaii. It's no secret that we're obsessed with the ʻōhiʻa lehua flower, after all we've made three swimsuits now that feature it.  So this year we're inviting you to celebrate (virtually) with us, and here's how:

Learning Opportunities:

Waikoloa Dry Forest Initiative is hosting live tours of the dry forest preserve on Facebook each week.  Follow them to find out when the next one is and bring the kids on a virtual tour of a unique native ecosystem. Follow on Facebook.

Watch With Us: This 28-minute short film by Club Sullivan won 3 Emmy's last year and highlights the importance of the ʻōhiʻa species and the current threat of Rapid ʻŌhiʻa Death.

Coloring Pages:

Hawaii Illustrator, Nicole Nadmar has created fun (and quite impressive) coloring pages you can download and print for free.  This month she's included native species like the wiliwili flower and the ʻōhiʻa lehua to help tap into your artsy side and pass the time. Download Coloring Pages.

Silent Auction:

Make a bid on one of these unique ʻōhiʻa lehua products and help raise funds to support native species propagation at the Lyon Estate. We've even included one of our ʻōhiʻa lehua one-pieces in the auction! Make a Bid Now.

Support Small Businesses & Give Back:

Here's a list of the artists and designers participating in this years ʻŌhiʻa Lehua Day. Your purchase from one of these small businesses returns a donation to help save the ʻōhiʻa lehua species.
